I hopped on a little wave
and it took me to the most unexpected place.
A year ago I joined a Facebook group, feeling a pull towards something new. I met a kindred soul there, and with no plan or expectation we began to create.
Somewhere between casual jam sessions, late-night recordings, and “what if we tried it this way”, a world quietly took shape.
It’s my great pleasure to introduce our band - Gentle Creatures. Our first album, Covers Volume One, is out today. Eight songs we love - old and new - softly reimagined in our own way.

For me, this album represents a year of joyful co-creation, of learning to trust my voice, of following curiosities.
For you, we hope it feels like a world you can sink into on a long walk, on a quiet evening, in the times where you just need a little company.
We created this album with a lot of love, and hope that you’ll enjoy it as much as we do.
For those of you who feel a quiet pull towards something, consider this your nudge. Follow it, find your people, make the thing. Hop on the wave and see where it takes you.
Thank you… to Tristan for being an inspiring and encouraging bandmate, to Andrew for your meticulous sound engineering, and to all our friends and family who gave early feedback, cheered us on, and celebrated with us at our album launch party in Toronto.

More on how our musical journey began…

I *love* this album.
I have been singing Pink Pony Club - pretty much constantly - since the launch party. I even got my instructor to play it at my jiu jitsu class so I could sing it and spar at the same time. Might be against the whole "gentle" part of Gentle Creatures, but it felt right (think "I'm just having fun", "I thank my wicked dreams", "won't make my momma proud" parts and you get the vibe of how I spar).
On the opposite end of the spectrum, every time I hear Drivers License I cry. Like no other song, it helps me feel into and connect with the grief and sadness at losing my step dad, and I'm just so grateful.
And finally, there is something about the invitation to slowness and presence in One Day At A Time that is soul food for where I'm at right now.
Thanks for sharing! Congratulations!
